2026 Ottawa-Gatineau Climate March

Event Details & Call to Action

The 2026 Ottawa Climate March is happening on Saturday, September 19, 2026. We gather at 9:30 AM at Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau before marching to downtown Ottawa, holding rallies at key locations along the way to make our voices heard.

Call to Volunteers

We need help with marshaling, logistics, sound setups, art creation, and outreach. Fill out our volunteer form and share how you would like to contribute to this year’s Climate March.

Schedule:

Our Demands:

  1. Stop Burning Public Dollars on Fossil Fuel and War: The federal government must stop funneling public money into fossil fuel projects and weapons-manufacturing. Taxpayer dollars should not subsidize corporate oil profits and militarization while Canadians burn through their paycheques during a cost-of-living crisis.
  2. Stop Burning Climate Protections, Rise to the Emergency: Stop backsliding on environmental laws, and enforce existing commitments. Align all federal policies with Parliament’s climate emergency declaration to protect communities from extreme weather, heat domes, and forest fires.
  3. Stop Burning Indigenous Rights and Legal Governance: Uphold Supreme Court rulings on climate action and ensure justice-based Free, Prior, and Informed Consent for any projects impacting Indigenous territories. Indigenous land rights and sovereignty over short-sighted extraction!
  4. Stop Burning Through the Public Service: Protect and invest in a capable federal workforce instead of slashing public sector resources. A strong public service is essential to execute the energy transition and emergency response needed to tackle the climate crisis.
